My Pandemic Diary
A Collaboration with Museu da Pessoa, Sao Paolo

My Pandemic Diary is an initiative by Museu da Pessoa (BR) to collect and archive stories of the moment we live in. Museu da Pessoa has partnered with Fontys Master Performing Public Space to expand this initiative to an international community, with the support of the Dutch Consulate in Sao Paolo. Together, we aimed at showing the common points between people who are living the global COVID-19 pandemic in different cultures, emphasizing the connection of experiences but also valuing their differences.

From the beginning, My Pandemic Diary resonated with our mission and vision as an artistic education program connecting the arts to the social environment. My Pandemic Diary started as an online platform, a digital public space, on which participants were called to submit stories from their life during the pandemic in audio, video or text. These submissions led to the Pandemic Diaries: one day at a time exhibition, launched June 3rd, 2021. The exhibition became a journey through stories that matter, under our common belief that all people’s stories hold a special meaning for our collective existence.

Presenting new Artistic Creations

As soon as the exhibition launched, we asked two artists to create works inspired by its essence and framed by the concept and physicality of public space. The artworks produced and exhibited [a short film and a music piece] are a non-verbal echo of the Pandemic Diaries exhibition. We are very proud to present these works as part of an exhibition that holds such a significant meaning for us as Performing Public Space.
